Yellow Season depicts the rapeseed fields of County Down, where vivid yellow flowers briefly transform the countryside each year. Painted from memory in beeswax, the work is inspired by the atmospheric pink and grey Irish skies, which illuminate the vivid colours of the fields and trees below. For a few short weeks, these humble flowers bring an extraordinary brightness to the landscape.
